Jake Buller-Young
Teaching Associate
Jake Buller-Young is a PhD candidate in Rhetoric, Writing, and Linguistics and is also completing a graduate certificate in Qualitative Research Methods in Education. In his studies, he pursues both empirical and theoretical research on the intersections of civic discourse, composition pedagogy, and religious rhetoric.
His work on constitutive rhetoric and Mennonite cookbooks has been published in The Journal of Communication and Religion. His dissertation focuses on the relationship between writing transfer and rhetorical education, aiming to develop, implement, and assess curricular changes in first-year composition that help students develop productive civic discourse practices.
