ENGL 499: Careers for English Majors

The English Department is excited to offer ENGL 499: Careers for English Majors in each semester during the first session.

This fully online class will help prepare you for the job market. Topics to be covered will include:

• identifying positions in diverse fields
• tailoring your application materials (résumés, cover letters, etc.)
• networking with other English grads
• translating your English studies into marketable skills
• issues related to job searching that you want to discuss and work on

Course Details

• 1 credit hour (if you are enrolled in 12 of more credit hours that meet degree requirements for financial aid, the class won’t cost anything more)
• class will meet asynchronously with plenty of opportunities for student collaboration and feedback
