Research Interests: Medieval/Early Modern; Theology, Spirituality, Demonology, Shakespeare, Drama, Digital Humanities
Taylor Jenette DeMichael’s research centers on intersections of theology, spirituality, and demonology within late medieval and early modern sermon-stories, literature, and dramas. Additionally, Taylor has secondary research interests in the nature of blood and acts of body fragmentation and beheading as symbolic of atonement, purification, or conquest. While earning her Ph.D. at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Taylor is also pursuing a graduate certificate in Digital Humanities. Much of her Digital Humanities work is pedagogically centered, designed to foster essential, marketable skills for undergraduates majoring in the Humanities while also innovating new methodologies to present, examine, and teach literature within the courses she instructs.
