Michael Pontacoloni is Herbert Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Tennessee, where he teaches introductory writing courses. His poems appear in Southern Review, Cincinnati Review, Colorado Review, Pleiades, and elsewhere. He has received awards and support from the Vermont Studio Center and the Sewanee Writers Conference. His scholarship explores the intersection of literary, environmental, and popular culture studies
