Jeni Wallace
Teaching Assistant Professor
Jennifer Wallace is a poet, university administrator, and innovative teacher of professional writing. A graduate of Emory & Henry and a holder of an MFA from The University of New Orleans, she has devoted her career to helping students succeed and prosper. In her role of MFA program Coordinator she helped to expand UNO low-residency program, planning and leading graduate level creative writing programs in Mexico, Italy, France, and Scotland. And as Coordinator at the Tennessee Consortium for International Studies, she oversaw dozens of study abroad trips for a wide range of undergraduate students. In her current role as a lecturer at The University of Tennessee, she teaches students to use the techniques of contemporary digital communication in their writing; in addition, she has been appointed to a range of administrative positions in the University, from The Chancellor’s Committee for Women to pilots for cutting edge writing classes. Her passion for learning, good teaching, and self-expression has made her a popular speaker at schools, creative writing events, and conferences. Her already award-winning novel in progress is represented by Inkwell Management. As the mother of two children, she does not have spare time, but if she did, she would relish developing her cooking repertoire and satisfying her love of travel and gardening.
