Harley Campbell is a medievalist and postdoctoral lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Harley’s dissertation entitled “Fallen Flesh: Experiencing the Body in the Middle English Lives of Adam and Eve” explores how medieval people used popular biblical apocrypha to understand the human body. Her research interests include popular religion, exegesis and hermeneutics, and gender studies in medieval and early modern literature. Harley also has served as a mentor for new instructors since 2018 and enjoys working with students to develop their critical thinking and writing skills. She has taught freshman composition courses since 2016.
