ENGL 493: Careers for English Majors

The English Department is excited to offer ENGL 493: Careers for English Majors in Spring 2024 (first session) taught by Dr. Daniel Wallace.

This fully online class will help prepare you for the job market. Topics to be covered will include:

  • identifying positions in diverse fields
  • tailoring your application materials (résumés, cover letters, etc.)
  • networking with other English grads
  • translating your English studies into marketable skills
  • issues related to job searching that you want to discuss and work on

Course Details

  • 1 credit hour (if you are enrolled in 12 of more credit hours that meet degree requirements for financial aid, the class won’t cost anything more)
  • class will meet asynchronously with plenty of opportunities for student collaboration and feedback
