How might an English degree lead to a career in Health?

Join us in conversation on courses and skillsets that complement a career in medicine.

Join us for a “Health Humanities” conversation in Fall of 2023 through courses, events, and alumni mentoring sessions with former UT English majors who became MDs, DVMs, or work in health-related professions or non-profits. Choose from classes like Disability and Literature (English 254), Medicine and Literature (English 342), AI and Nuclear Security (English 360), Horses in Literature and Culture (English 398), a graduate-level Disability Studies in Literature course (590), or classes in gender and sexuality, like English 332, 402, and 425. The UT Humanities Center will be hosting a “Health Humanities” symposium from Oct. 27-28, and the department will bring back alumni to talk about their careers in related fields. Join the conversation by signing up for one of these classes, or check back for event details on our website.
