Statement
Our engagement with stories, texts, and communicative practices from across places and time periods teaches us to consider a wide range of perspectives from students, faculty, and groups outside the university. The Department is committed to creating a climate in which respect for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility becomes part of all departmental life, including curriculum, hiring, community engagement, and efforts to recruit and support students.
Scholarships
We dedicate up to half of our First-Year Scholarships to students who come from under-resourced Tennessee high schools designated as Flagship schools.
International Students

International Students and Scholar Services (ISSS) is committed to offering immigration advising and support services to our international student and scholar population.
