Coralyn Foults Nottingham

Biography
Coralyn is a post-doctoral lecturer. At present, she works in the Herbert Writing Center tutoring and training new tutors, while teaching first-year composition and business writing. Her recently completed dissertation, “Women, War and Home in Contemporary American Drama,” explores the genre of contemporary American war plays, with special attention given to women playwrights.
Before earning her Ph.D. at UT, Coralyn was an active graduate student. During the 2018-2019 academic year, she was awarded with a Chancellor’s Citation Award for Graduate Student Teaching. Additionally, she worked in the Herbert Writing Center as a Tutor Training Session Leader and on special projects to expand services to more students at UT, while serving as the Programs Intern for the University of Tennessee Humanities Center. For the 2017-2018 academic year, she served as the Assistant Director of Composition and was a co-editor for the textbook Rhetorical Choices. In the 2016-2017 academic year, she served as the Assistant Director of the Writing Center and Vice-Chair for the Graduate Students of English. She was a research assistant to Dr. Stanton B. Garner, Jr. for the third edition of The Norton Anthology of Drama.
