2025-2026 Scholarship Winners

Please join in the English Department in celebrating our undergraduate scholarship winners for 2025–2026.

Nathaniel Adams is a senior Creative Writing major and recipient of the Charles and Frances Mangam Merit Scholarship. The Old Hickory, Tennessee native enjoys bike riding and hiking, in addition to playing video games and watching movies in his spare time.

Sophie Beadle

Senior Creative Writing major Sophie Beadle is the 2025-2026 recipient of the Louise and Aileen Seilaz Scholarship. Born in Nashville, Sophie enjoys reading, writing, spending time with her friends, and bowling. 

Mangam Merit Scholarship winner Peyton Blumenfeld is a senior majoring in Literature. A native of Brookeville, Maryland, Peyton likes to swim, read, and watch movies in her spare time.

Hannah Buchanan

Hannah Buchanan, a senior with a concentration in Literature, is this year’s winner of the Edwin Watson Bowe Scholarship. A native of Asheville, North Carolina, Hannah enjoys hiking in the Smokey Mountains and having Lego nights with her friends. 

Knoxville native Kathryn Faulkner received the Mangam Merit Scholarship for the 2025-26 school year. Kathryn is a junior with a double concentration in Rhetoric and Writing and Literature, and stays busy as co-chair of events for Student Alumni Associates and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, and enjoys travelling and spending time with friends and family.

Lanie Faust

Lanie Faust is a senior Technical Communications major and recipient of the Mangam Merit Scholarship. A native of Knoxville, she enjoys travelling, hiking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. 

Rhetoric and Writing major Samantha Graff earned a 2025-26 Mangam Merit Scholarship. A senior from Long Valley, New Jersey, Samantha enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and lifting weights.

Addison Leonard

Addison Leonard, a junior Literature major, has been awarded the Patsy Hammontree Literary Endowed Scholarship. Addison hails from Maryville, Tennessee, and likes to spend time outdoors, as well as playing music and watching movies. 

Senior Rhetoric and Writing major Allise Moran is co-recipient of this year’s William Jenkins Scholarship. Allise, who comes to UT from Columbia, Tennessee, has a strong interest in law, as evidenced by her interning at a local law firm and her membership in Kappa Alpha Pi, a pre-law and government fraternity. She also enjoys travelling and hiking.

A Munroe

A Munroe is a senior majoring in Technical Writing and co-recipient of the William W. Jenkins Scholarship. They are a native of Largo, Florida, and enjoy reading and writing, nature photography, and spending quality time with their cats. 

Well-travelled Literature major Chiara Susanna Ravelli came to UT from Sweden, and grew up splitting time between Italy and Switzerland. The winner of this year’s Bill Larsen Cinema Scholarship, Chiara enjoys reading, baking, cooking, and going to coffee shops, but especially when she can do those things with her friends.

Reilly Sitler

Reilly Sitler is a recipient of the 2025-26 Mangam Merit Scholarship. A sophomore Rhetoric and Writing major from Hendersonville, Tennessee, Reilly is a member of the Kappa Alpha Pi pre-law fraternity (with hopes of becoming an appellate attorney) and a member of the Chancellor’s Honors Program. 

Brooke Williams, a sophomore Literature major, received the Mangam Merit Scholarship. A native of Chattanooga, Brooke enjoys reading, cosplay, and is a fan of anime.
