Biography

Heather Akers has taught introductory writing and literature at the University of Tennessee Knoxville for ten years. She regularly teaches courses in first-year composition, public writing, and writing in the workplace. In the past, she has taught honors first-year writing, introduction to fiction, introduction to poetry, and surveys in world literature and British literature. Originally from Knoxville, she has taught at several universities across the Southeast. Her interests include food writing, poetry, and creative nonfiction.
