BA in Creative Writing
It starts with imagination, a love of language, of books, of storytelling. But Creative Writing is also so much more than that; it’s a means for mastering the craft of effective, persuasive expression and communication. These are the skills that produce writers and poets, but they’re also what lead to successful careers in publishing, editing, media, communications, law, politics, marketing and publicity, and business.
Visit to the Publishing & Media Career Track
The BA in English with Creative Writing Concentration provides students with an opportunity to study poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and screenwriting with faculty who are themselves distinguished artists. Likewise, the Creative Writing Reading Series exposes students to exciting new work from acclaimed poets and writers from around the world.

Phoenix Literary and Arts Magazine
Work on the Phoenix Literary and Arts Magazine and gain leadership experience in the arts.
Undergraduate Reading Series
The Chiasmus Reading Series offers a wonderful opportunity to share your work and develop your reading skills.
Creative Writing Club
The Creative Writing Club is a student-organized club that typically meets once a week to discuss and share our experiences and pieces of creative writing.
Creative Writing Awards
Undergraduates are welcome to submit their work for consideration—and cash prizes!— in one of our four creative writing award categories.
