2026-2027 Scholarship Winners

Please join in the English Department in celebrating our undergraduate scholarship winners for 2026–2027.

Emma Crooks is a senior Publishing major from Knoxville, Tennessee and recipient of the 2026 Bill Larsen Cinema Scholarship. Emma is an officer in UT’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the national English honors society, and enjoys reading, playing guitar, and volunteering at church.

Bristol native Brianna Eaton received the Charles and Frances Mangam Merit Scholarship. A junior English major concentrating on Literature and Publishing, Brianna dances with the UT dance club En Motion and hopes to keep dancing even after joining a publishing company after graduation. 

Mangam Merit Scholarship recipient Kate Faulkner is a senior English major concentrating on both Literature and Rhetoric and Writing. Kate is Vice President of Membership for Student Alumni Associates at UT and is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, and plans to attend law school after graduating.

Eliza Haney.

Eliza Haney is a sophomore Creative Writing major from Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Eliza enjoys reading, writing, drawing, and nature photography, and received the 2026 Louise and Aileen Seilaz Scholarship. 

Junior Creative Writing major Kieran Macmillan has received the 2026 Willis English Scholarship. Kieran enjoys scuba diving, and plans on going to graduate school to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree.

Meredith Mooney.

Meredith Mooney is a senior Rhetoric and Writing major. A native of Kingsport, Tennessee, Meredith is interested in pursuing a career in middle- or high school education, and is a recipient of the Mangam Merit Scholarship. 

Creative Writer (and 2026-27 UTK Sigma Tau Delta President) Emily Moore is a recipient of the Mangam Merit Scholarship. A native of Knoxville, Emily draws poetic inspiration from a variety of favorite authors (such as T.S. Eliot, Carmen Gimenez, Sabrina Orah Mark, and the Brontë sisters) and musicians such as Tori Amos and David Bowie.

A Munroe is a senior Technical Communications major hailing from Largo, Florida. A recipient of the Mangam Merit Scholarship, A enjoys reading, writing, horror movies, and spending time with cats.

 

Sophomore Literature major Emma Riggs received a Mangam Merit Scholarship for 2026-27. A native of Pleasant View, Tennessee, Emma enjoys reading, gardening, and baking, and plans to become a high school teacher after graduation

Reilly Sitler.

Reilly Sitler is a recipient of the Mangam Merit Scholarship. A native of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Reilly is a junior Rhetoric and Writing major who is active in Kappa Alpha Phi, with plans on attending law school. 

Maryville native Louise Spencer has received the Mangam Merit Scholarship. A sophomore Literature major, Louise enjoys painting, reading, and hiking.

Junior Rhetoric and Writing major Marin Stuart received the Charles and Frances Mangam Merit Scholarship. Marin, who comes to UT from Memphis, enjoys painting, reading, and traveling, and hope to explore a career in editing or grant writing. 

Keira Wilcox is a junior Creative Writing major from Belmont, North Carolina. A recipient of the Mangam Merit Scholarship, Keira enjoys needlework and is active in campus ministry, and looks forward to becoming a young adult dystopian fiction writer.

Lilah Williams.

Lilah Williams is a junior from Nashville who majors in Literature. A winner of the Mangam Merit Scholarship, Lilah works at a coffee shop and enjoys reading and traveling, and hopes to attend law school after graduation.
