Kyle Macy

Kyle Macy is a Herbert Postdoctoral Fellow and writing instructor at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. After completing his MFA in Fiction Writing at the University of Alabama, he received a PhD in English with a concentration in Writing Practices, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Teaching Composition, from the University at Albany, SUNY, where he served as poetry editor for the literary journal Barzakh. His dissertation, a fragmentary novel titled Let Your Head Hang Down: An Oral History of the Folk Revival Revival, explores the radicalization of a burgeoning movement of young musicians and intellectuals. His work interrogates intersections of artistic identity, conspiratorial narratives, and cultic formations.
